Last year, I wrote sixty-five songs in three months.  Twenty four of these made it to a short list I selected over several weeks, and twelve made it to a final list for the studio.

The plan is to release several EPs (short albums) every few months featuring tracks that mesh together in feel and texture.

THE DOVE EP

The first of these EPs was released online and download seedcard September 6th as The Dove.  The songs on this EP are big and Hi Fidelity, mixed by producer Warne Livesey (Matthew Good, Xavier Rudd) and mastered in the UK by Tim Young (Queen, Led Zeppelin).  As polished and tight as I come, these three tracks were all that a stereo sound can bring – mission accomplished on this front.

Keeping it fresh and rolling is the way I want to do it this year, so I’m getting geared up to release the second EP of seven new songs.

OCEANS EP

Tarnished, dusty, wind blown, ethereal – the songs from this EP are raw and natural. None of them fit for radio, all of them a soundtrack for a wander, OCEANS will be released November 11th 2011; watch for it online – notably on bandcamp: http://vincevaccaro.bandcamp.com

OCEAN PLASTIC
Every year, hundreds of thousands of sea turtles, whales, and other
marine animals and more than 1 million sea birds die from ocean
pollution and ingestion or entanglement in man made waste that ends
up in the ocean.

Sea turtles mistake plastics and other garbage as food (such as jellyfish)
and ingest it… This mistake causes blockages within their digestive
systems and eventual death.

In support of Ocean Conservation and Plastic Free Initiatives I am only
releasing my music digitally.

There is so much plastic involved in the production of a CD, from the
shrink wrap, to the plastic case, to the disc itself. I am only releasing
in digital format because I LOVE THE OCEAN.

Every year Japanese fishermen trap approximately 2,000 dolphins in a secluded bay in Taiji. Of those 2,000 dolphins, a few dozen are selected to be sold to aquariums and the rest are slaughtered for meat. The horror of the Taiji dolphin slaughter was brought to world-wide attention in 2009 by the award-winning documentary “The Cove.” In spite of global outcry, the killing is scheduled to begin again on September 1st.

It’s not all bad news, however. You can help Ric O’Barry and his Save Japan Dolphins Team end the slaughter. The Save Japan Dolphins Team, joined by volunteers from more than 11 countries, is heading to Japan to put the pressure of international scrutiny on the officials who allow this hunt, and to inform the Japanese people of the truth about what is going on.
